One Congressional Candidate, One RTD Candidate Qualifies for General Election Ballot

Denver, July 29, 2024 - The Elections Division of the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office announced today that two candidates have qualified for the General Election ballot:

  • Joseph Gaye, unaffiliated candidate for United States House of Representatives, District 5
  • Kathleen Chandler, nonpartisan candidate for RTD Board of Directors, District F

Each has submitted the required number of signatures to appear on the November 5, 2024 General Election ballot.

Candidates for the United States House of Representatives are required to collect 1,500 signatures (or 2.5% of votes cast in the last election, whichever is smaller) in their district, a requirement outlined by 1-4-802(1)(c)(III), C.R.S. Joseph Gaye submitted 1,760 valid signatures, eclipsing the 1,500-signature threshold.

Number of valid signatures required:  1,500

Candidates for RTD Board of Directors are required to collect 250 signatures within their district as required by 32-9-111(5)(a), C.R.S. Kathleen Chandler submitted 266 valid signatures, eclipsing the 250-signature threshold.
