Secretary of State Jena Griswold Highlights Resources and Multilingual Hotline Available to Spanish Speaking Voters in Colorado
Denver, September 28, 2023 - Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold is reminding Spanish-speaking voters in Colorado of the resources available to them at www.VayaVotarColorado.gov.
“Voters need accurate election information,” said Secretary Griswold. “VayaVotarColorado.gov helps Coloradans register to vote and access trustworthy and accurate election information.”
Eligible Coloradans can register to vote, update their voter registration, and find other crucial information at VayaVotarColorado.gov in Spanish.
Starting on October 16, 2023, Colorado voters can call the Secretary of State’s Language Assistance Hotline for assistance with translating their ballot. The hotline will individuals to receive real time translation of their ballot content from a live interpreter.
The Language Assistance Hotline is available to voters as a result of HB21-1011. Per Colorado Statute, interpretation services may only be provided for interpretation of the ballot content, and not on Bluebook content or to describe the measures. This includes providing translation of instructions on completing the ballot, such as:
- how to fill in ovals or make corrections,
- how to properly put the ballot in the ballot envelope and sign
- how to return the ballot by mail, drop box, or Voter Service and Polling Center
Election judges and staff may send a voter in need of assistance on other matters such as updating registration to other resources for additional information.
To access the hotline, voters may call their County Clerk, visit a voting center and speak to an election judge or county staff, or call the Secretary of State’s Office directly at 303-860-6970 and a staff member at the Department will connect them to an interpreter for assistance with translating the content of the ballot.

VayaVotarColorado.gov is the most up-to-date source for election information for Colorado voters. With the .gov domain, which only government agencies may use, voters can have confidence that information is coming directly from the Secretary of State’s Office and is trusted.
