Secretary Griswold Leads Bipartisan Secretaries of State in Requesting Expansion of Federal Efforts to Combat Foreign Disinformation

Denver, April 14, 2021 - Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold has joined Secretaries of State from across the country to commend the Department of Homeland Security’s Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for its work combatting disinformation in the 2020 elections and to request an expansion of those efforts.

“Americans deserve correct information on the electoral process and exercising their right to vote. The 2020 elections were the most secure in our history, but foreign disinformation continues to pose an ongoing threat,” said Secretary Griswold. “CISA successfully led the federal effort to combat this threat during the 2020 elections. I am glad to join my fellow Secretaries of State in requesting CISA continue and expand its efforts to combat the dangerous and detrimental impacts of foreign disinformation.”
