Ballot returns by party, age and gender
DENVER, Nov. 17, 2016 -- Today is the last day the Colorado Secretary of State's office will send out ballot-return releases from the Nov. 8 general election until the results are finalized on Dec. 8.
Although ballots were due to the clerks' offices by 7 p.m. on Election Day, tallying has continued. Military and overseas voters have until eight days after an election to get their ballots in. Likewise, voters who failed to sign their ballot or their signature didn't match also had eight days to rectify or "cure" their ballot. That deadline ended at midnight, Wednesday, Nov. 16.
The last day for clerks to count provisional ballots is Nov. 22. Clerks are required by Nov. 25 to turn in their official results to the Colorado Secretary of State, which then spends several days compiling that data before Dec. 8.
This release contains two attachments: ballot returns by party, and ballot returns by age and by gender. "Unknown" refers to voters who didn't indicate their gender when registering.
The unofficial election results are posted on the Secretary of State's website. To receive email updates from the Secretary of State's office, please visit www.sos.state.co.us and subscribe under the "Email updates" section.
