Secretary of State Wayne Williams reminds voters of today's deadline to participate in precinct caucuses
DENVER, Jan. 4, 2016 -- Today is the last day to affiliate with the Colorado Democratic or Republican parties in order to participate in their caucuses on March 1.
Precinct caucuses are meetings of registered voters within a precinct who are members of a particular major party. The purpose of precinct caucuses is to elect precinct committee persons and delegates to county assemblies. Caucuses are held in locations across Colorado.
For more information, contact the Colorado Democratic Party or the Colorado Republican Party.
To change your party affiliation, register to vote or update your address go to the Colorado Secretary of State's website. The party affiliation must be made by midnight today.
"Critical decisions about both party's nominees begin at the caucus," Williams said. "In some cases, the only contested race may take place in the caucuses so get involved."
