Initiative 124 deemed sufficient
“School Board Open Meetings” will appear on November ballot
Denver, Colorado, August 13, 2014 - Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler announced today that the proposed ballot measure concerning “School Board Open Meetings” was found to be sufficient as required by statute.
Proponents submitted petitions for Proposed Initiative 124 to the Secretary of State’s office on August 1. A five-percent random sample of the submitted signatures projected the number of valid signatures to be greater than 110 percent of the total number of signatures required for placement on the ballot.
Because the random sample verification established that the projected number of valid signatures totals 110.21 percent of the amount required for placement on the ballot, Proposed Initiative 2013-2014 #124 is sufficient and will be certified to the 2014 general election ballot.
Under Colorado law, and barring a successful protest, the initiative will be numbered “Proposition 104.”
