Coffman Launches Review of Secretary of State Employee Policies Regarding Outside Political Activities
New Policy Expected by Thursday, May 17
Denver, May 11, 2007 – Secretary of State Mike Coffman today announced the launch of a complete review of the Department of State’s internal policies regarding employee secondary employment, including what political activities department employees may - and may not - engage in outside of their official position within the department.
The review will include an examination of policies from other states, and the new standards will apply to all divisions within the Secretary of State’s office: Administration, Business, Elections, Information Technology and Licensing.
The new policy is expected to be publicly announced and implemented by Thursday, May 17.
