Secretary of State Expands Office Hours
Denver, September 24, 1999 - Effective October 1, 1999, the Colorado Department of State will open an hour earlier. The new office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Secretary of State Donetta Davidson credits recognizing the needs of the business community as the deciding factor for the change.
"Government must adopt a business approach and become more customer driven," emphasizes Davidson.
The expanded office hours will give Commercial Recording and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) customers greater flexibility -- and more time --- to file and retrieve corporate documents. Davidson expects the longer hours to shorten lines at the Commercial Recording counter and alleviate long holds on the phone lines.
"Our goal is to give our customers every extra advantage we can to be successful in today's competitive marketplace," adds Davidson.
The expanded office hours also will assist candidates filing for state office, allow more time to file campaign reports, and increase access to campaign finance records. Davidson has made improved customer service her top priority since her appointment on July 22, 1999.
