A lot drawing was held at the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office on January 2, 2024 to determine the presidential primary election ballot order for both the Democratic & Republican Party candidates. Colorado law (1-4-1204(2), C.R.S.) requires that the names of candidates appearing on any presidential primary ballot must be in an order determined by lot. The secretary of state shall determine the method of drawing lots. The lot drawing was conducted by Department of State staff and witnessed by campaign representatives.
