FAQs
Am I eligible to register to vote?
To register to vote, you must:
- be a US citizen,
- have a Colorado Driver’s license or ID,
- be at least 16 years old (but you must be 18 years old on election day to vote),
- live in Colorado for at least 22 days immediately before an election in which you intend to vote.
When can I register to vote?
You can register to vote until 7:00 PM on Election Day.
How do I receive a ballot?
Your county will mail a ballot to your address at least 18 days before Election Day.
If you registered within eight days of the election, you must vote at a polling location.
Why haven’t I received my ballot?
If you haven’t received your ballot, contact your county clerk and recorder. If you have a valid Colorado driver’s license or state-issued ID, look up my information to verify your address is correct.
When is my ballot due?
You should mail your ballot no later than one week before the election to guarantee delivery, or you can drop off your ballot at a VSPC polling location up until 7:00 PM on Election Day.
How do I change my address?
Look up my information to update your registration online or you can complete the paper registration form (PDF) and send it to your county clerk and recorder.
What happens when I update my voter record?
Your county will process the changes.
If you change or update your voter registration more than eight days before an election, the clerk and recorder will void your outstanding mail ballot and a new mail ballot will be sent to you.
If you change your voter registration within seven days of the election, the clerk and recorder will update your record, but you must visit a polling location to vote a ballot.
Find the VSPC polling location in your county.
