Notice of Public Meeting to Establish the Risk Limiting Audit Random Seed for June 25, 2024 Primary Election

Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold will conduct a public meeting to establish the random seed for use with the Secretary of State’s Risk Limiting Audit (RLA) software’s pseudo-random number generator as required by Election Rule 25.2.2 (i). The meeting will be convened the 13th day after Election Day in accordance with Election Rule 25.2.2 (i). This seed will be used to audit the results of the June 25, 2024 Election, including the Primary Election contests and the CD-4 Congressional Vacancy Election.

The seed is a number consisting of at least 20 digits, and each digit will be selected in order by sequential rolls of a 10-sided die. Members of the public will be invited to roll individual die as part of this public meeting, and are also invited to watch in person or via live stream on Zoom. Should members of the public not want to participate, staff at the Secretary of State’s Office will roll individual die. The Secretary of State will publish the seed on the Audit Center page immediately after it is established.
