Ballot Title Setting Board

The title as designated and fixed by the Board is as follows:

An amendment to the Colorado constitution concerning requirements for nonpublic schools that directly or indirectly receive public funds for educating children in kindergarten through twelfth grade, and, in connection therewith, requiring that any such nonpublic school with ten or more students: (1) adopt a policy to ensure that no eligible child is excluded from or treated differently by the nonpublic school because of that child’s race, creed, color, gender, national origin, religion, ancestry, or disability, (2) comply with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act to the same extent as a public school built in the same year as the nonpublic school, (3) provide access to records that would qualify as public records to the same extent as a public school, (4) provide access to final performance or financial audits, (5) require all students attending the nonpublic school to take all state?mandated assessments that are administered to students in public schools at the same grade levels, and (6) be subject to the state's educational accountability requirements to the same extent as a public school.
