The Secretary of State’s office (“SOS”) suspended online access to most images of UCC, EFS, and other lien documents on September 16, 2008, in order to protect individual privacy.
The SOS has redacted social security numbers and employer identification numbers from some images of UCC, EFS and other lien documents and online access to these images will be restored to accommodate community needs.
The redaction process is not complete and therefore some images will continue to be unavailable online. The SOS expects to restore online access to all images of UCC, EFS, and other lien documents once the redaction process has been completed.
Copies of unavailable images may be obtained by submitting a UCC-11 Information Request form and applicable fee to the SOS. The UCC-11 Information Request form is available by selecting “Business Center” on the Secretary of State’s home page and then selecting the “UCC and EFS forms” link under the UCC Information heading. Current copy fees are available by selecting the “Fee schedule” link under the “General Information” heading in the Business Center web page.
The suspension of access to online images may cause processing delays. UCC copy requests will be completed as soon as possible. Please note that fax return and expedited service are not available for UCC search or copy requests.
We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding our constituents have demonstrated during the redaction and restoration process.
