Notice Regarding Filing Deadlines Effective August 5, 2008

HB08-1055 provides, in part, that if a document can be filed electronically with the Secretary of State, any applicable deadline for the filing of such document will not be extended if the Secretary of State’s physical office is closed on such deadline.

If a filing deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, legal holiday or any day the Secretary of State’s physical office is closed for any reason, the deadline is not extended. Late fees apply to untimely filings and will not be waived. To ensure a filing is timely and in order to avoid other possible delays, such as the unavailability of a particular web application or other technical difficulties, please allow sufficient time before the filing deadline to file. Annual reports, trade name renewals and trademark renewals are all affected. This Act takes effect on August 5, 2008.
