Quarterly Reports Due January 31, 2024If you held a 2023 license at any time during the 4th quarter 2023, you MUST submit your LE-21 Quarterly Report form by January 31, 2024. The report covers the period from October 1 through December 31, 2023. Reports filed after this date will be assessed a $50 late filing fee. Filing quarterly reports using our online system is cheaper than filing paper forms. If needed, all paper forms can still be found on our website, including all daily forms. Please make sure to provide copies of daily forms for progressive bingo (LE-34a), progressive pull tabs (LE-31a), and progressive raffles (LE-34c) with your submission. The progressive bingo forms should be updated after each bingo occasion and the pull tab and raffle forms should be updated regularly. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Lisa Marty at lisa.marty@coloradosos.gov or Denise Lamberth at denise.lamberth@coloradosos.gov. Continued Online AcceptanceCurrently, 95% of groups file their documentation online. That is a 3% improvement over this time last year, and only leaves 36 total groups that are not currently filing electronically. As done throughout last year, quarterly reminders will continue to be sent to those still filing by paper regarding how to create your online account. You will receive this for each paper quarterly submission you continue to file. As always, fees for online filing of quarterlies are cheaper than those for paper filing, and your filing or renewal will not be held up by waiting for the mail to be delivered to our office. If you would like to start the process of going to online filing, please refer to your mailed reminder or contact our team to assist you and thank you for making this transition. You are always welcome to give us a call – we are more than happy to aid you in taking advantage of this filing method. Renewing a Bingo Manufacturer, Supplier, Agent LicensePlease remember: the Manufacturer, Supplier and Agent licenses expire on March 31, 2024. Applications/renewals must be submitted online. There are training guides available on our website as follows: These licenses can be renewed any time after February 1 for the 2024 license year (Manufacturer and Supplier licensee filings must also have submitted their 1st quarter reports before renewals will become available). New Manufacturer, Supplier and Agent applicants can also access the system for the initial submission of the application and creation of your online account here. Rejected Report RemindersWhen a report is rejected, you will receive an email advising you of the rejection and the reasons for the rejected report. You will need to log in to your bingo/raffle account and make the appropriate changes and/or comments within the report. When reviewing a report, we don’t always go back to the previous report, so adding notes to the comment section on the totals tab could assist us in our current review. However, if you have any questions, about the rejection, please contact our office. Please be advised that any response you provide via email will not fix the report. When a report has been submitted/resubmitted you will get a receipt that you can email to yourself. Games Manager TrainingYour organization must have at least one certified Games Manager in order to run charitable games. We recommend licensees maintain more than one Games Manager. To support this, we offer in-person and online Games Manager training courses. Sign up for the online eLearning course on our website. For in-person classes, visit our Games Manager Training page and follow the instructions to sign up for a scheduled class. The dates/times/places of upcoming Games Manager training classes are as follows:
Investigator TipsEach quarter, we include a few tips from our Bingo/Raffle Investigators. They gather a lot of information in the field with areas where licensees have compliance challenges. By sharing this information, we hope that licensees can better serve their customers. You can access all bingo/raffle laws using our Bingo-Raffles Law Handbook. Here are this quarter's tips: Method of Payment of Progressive Jackpots that exceed $500. When a licensee is conducting a progressive jackpot game, if the total amount of the jackpot prize exceeds $500, the payment(s) should be made by check, no matter the number of winners declared. For example, if the progressive jackpot is $600 and one winner is determined, a check must be written to the winner. If the progressive jackpot is $600 and there are three winners, then a check must be written for $200 to each successful winner. Rule 9.3.3(a) states: "All progressive prizes in excess of $500 must be paid by check." Feel free to contact Investigator Darleen Herrera with questions at darleen.herrera@coloradosos.gov. |
