| Description of Subjects/Issues |
Pursuant to sections §§ 24-31-303 (1)(g), (j), (l) and (m), 24-31-305 and 24-31-307(1), C.R.S., the Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (POST) has the authority and duty to promulgate and amend specific rules and regulations as further specified herein to provide further procedural clarity and to ensure that statutory requirements are met. |
| Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The purpose of these amended rules is to delegate additional authority to the Director to decide, on behalf of the Board, whether to file exceptions following the Initial Decision of the POST Administrative Hearing Officer pursuant to § 24-4-105, C.R.S.; to update annual in-service training requirements for basic, provisional, reserve, and renewal of basic certification to comply with statutory changes; to update the list of instructor programs recognized by POST; to update law enforcement training academy reporting requirements; and to make non-substantive typographical corrections. Amendments proposed are set forth herein, with statements of bases and purpose included. |
