The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments on proposed changes to Part 7, Use of Radionuclides in the Healing Arts. The proposed amendment modifies this rule to incorporate changes for consistency and compatibility with the federal regulations of 10 CFR Part 35 that have occurred since Part 7 was last revised in 2006. Further, the proposed changes eliminate the following: the requirement for an Authorized User (physician) to be named on the radioactive material license in order to perform the final interpretation of the results of tests, studies, and treatments; and the requirement for an Authorized User physician to be physically present at the facility within one hour (except where physical presence is otherwise explicitly required by Part 7).
